When you will find one flea on your kitten you can be very sure that there are many more. it's vital that your kitten is completely rid of fleas or they will not survive. A flea eats 15x's its weight in blood, this means that each flea that is on your kitten is taking this much blood from your kittens central blood circulatory system every time they bite your kitten. If you've just found a flea on your kitten, don't assume that they just got there because your kitten hasn't been itching and biting excessively. A kitten will not show signs of annoyed flea bites, unless they're allergic to the saliva of the flea.
Fleas on your kitten have severe and deadly health issues for your kitten. A kitten will become severely lethargic and dehydrated in a very short period of time. When your kitten becomes lethargic they'll lose interest in eating and drinking along with losing interest in any play. The only thing they'll be interested in is resting and sleeping. If your kitten isn't drinking or eating due to lethargic behavior along with becoming dehydrated due to the blood the fleas are taking from them, they'll die.
If you've seen a flea on your kitten, put them into a clean sink or bathtub. Rub their coat vigorously but gently from the skin out. If you see black speckles falling from their coat, put a small drop of water on it. If the black speckles turn red from the water then your kitten has fleas eating from them.
